FALL IN LOVE WITH INSTAMEET

ECPTA used Instagram to ignite a dynamic social media campaign. Instameet is especially for Instagram users to capture their favourite Eastern Cape scenery and moments and share them with their like-minded Instagram community.

This event was designed and organised for Instagram users to share their interests and passions and a great way for us to visually present our province. Covid restrictions and social distancing developed Instameet into a virtual event, encouraging small groups to gather and visually capture their surrounds, showcasing why the Eastern Cape is such a vibe”. Built on the premise of the theme “Fall in love…”, Instagrammers were encouraged to explore the province on Human Rights Day (21st March 2022) and communicate their unique interests and memorable experiences on Instagram. The objective was to encourage user-generated social media content and create positive awareness of our brand.

This campaign was rolled out and promoted across various digital platforms through social media placement and advertising and through affiliate marketing in partnership with the City of Gqeberha and Buffalo City.  Social media advertising secured a reach of over 500 000 accounts.

This was supported by an event at the Café Recife, hosted by the The City of Gqeberha, which received excellent support and feedback.

The event included a competition which offered a travel prize valued at R20,000. The top 10 entries will be subject to a public vote for the winning entry.

 This initiative drew in short videos and images that showcased up to 150 different scenes.
