VIRTUALLY THE BEST

ECPTA has developed interactive virtual tourism tours to show off our hidden gems and less visited and lesser-known attractions.

We have embraced the power of virtual reality technology to capitalise on digital marketing trends. Interactive tours allow the user to immerse themselves in the Eastern Cape experience from the comfort of their home. These full 360-degree virtual tours are compatible and accessible from most digital devices, and further enhanced when paired with virtual reality goggles and controllers. Magnificent drone footage gives you a bird’s eye view of our province. The audio advises of possible detours and other useful information. It’s almost like having a personal guide!

This is a powerful marketing tool that enables potential visitors to experience first-hand what we have on offer. You can be anywhere in the world – all you need is internet connectivity. It’s perfect for educational purposes and is inclusive for people with disabilities.

These are some of the 17 strategically chosen attractions, offering a mix of adventure, nature, marine and historic experiences with a wide geographical spread to be representative of most of the Eastern Cape’s tourism regions: the Segway Tour; a Kayak & Lilo excursion; Sandboarding in Sundays River, an Ocean Safari; the Donkin Reserve; Addo Elephant National Park; Giraffe Safari; Valley of Desolation; Nelson Mandela Museum; Steve Biko Museum; Hole in the Wall; Hluleka Provincial Nature Reserve; Madonna and Child Waterfall; Baviaanskloof World Heritage Site and The Owl House.

This medium will plant the seed of awareness and interest and in due course convert into bookings and excursions.

We are showcasing the tours at trade events and through online channels. Eastern Cape tourism stakeholders can also use these tours as a tool to market attractions within the province.
