Day 1
Arrive in Rhodes and check in to your accommodation at Walkerbouts Inn. Settle in and enjoy a sundowner in the Thanksjalot Pub at Walkerbouts before dinner.

Day 2
Breakfast, where we cater for omnivores and vegetarians alike!
Head out for sight-seeing trips to a variety of options such as Naudesnek Pass, the Ben McDhui plateau from where the ski resort can be seen, and the “Loch Ness” dam, the highest self-sustaining wild trout fishery in RSA. The latter includes the Carlisleshoek Pass. Picnic on the plateau complete with lunch- packs included in the package.
Drive out to the Maartenshoek valley, a gem that is a mini-Golden Gate. For fly fishing enthusiasts, more than 200km of running water are within reach of the village.

Enjoy your breakfast and then start walking towards Rhodes The first day’s walk is about 24km to the Farm Franshoek. Lunch will be supplied. Have dinner and spend the night at Franshoek Guest Farm. Your luggage will be transported and meet you at the end of each day at your new destination.

Day 3
Enjoy your breakfast and then start walking towards Rhodes. Day two’s walk is roughly 22km the Farm Steepside. Lunch is supplied and dinner and accommodation will be at Steepside Guest Farm.

Day 4
Enjoy your breakfast and then start walking towards Rhodes. It is about 20km to the village of Rhodes. Lunch is supplied. Accommodation and dinner at Rubicon Units and Restaurant.

KOUGA

The Kouga coastline is one of the highlights of the Eastern Cape. Plenty of surf, sand and entertainment can be explored in the surrounding towns of Jeffreys Bay and Cape St Francis. There is something for everyone in the family making this ideal for a short getaway!

Day 1
Once settled in your accommodation, enjoy a visit to the famous Jeffreys Bay Shell Museum for an interesting talk about local seashells, some collected from around the globe. MAKANA
Welcome to the ‘City of Saints’ in the heart of the Frontier Country region. Day 2
Enjoy your breakfast and then take a drive to Riebeek East, a mere 39 km west of Makhanda, to visit this quaint village’s historic church. Get a guided tour from the caretaker of this historic church, Gavin Blamire, who is always happy to show guests around and explain its history and significance.
On your way back make a turn to Temba Private Game Reserve to visit the luxury farmhouse originally belonging to Piet Retief, 12km outside Makhanda. It is situated a game reserve ideal for bird watching, hiking, nature activities and game drives.
Wind down with a hike up to Mountain Drive, an 8 km dirt and gravel road and family friendly trail located or visit the astronomical toposcope on Gunfire Hill in front of the 1820 Settlers’ National Monument. It shows the cardinal points and positions for the rising of certain constellations. This is wheelchair accessible and braai facilities are available.
Alternatively, visit the Manley Flats Community Trails for a day of nature walks, trail running and cycling. The trails are open every day throughout the year. All income derived from the Manley Flats Community Trails are directed to their local community.
For sundowners, visit the Belmont Golf Club, one of the most scenic spots just 7km out of Makhanda with the most awesome views.
