We are an historical country hotel in a very special place called Norvalspont, which borders the Free State, Northern Cape and the Eastern Cape. Set amongst the beautiful rolling koppies of the Bo Karoo, we operate a general dealers store, bottleshop, bar, restaurant, accommodation and adventure activities. Away from the hype of the cities, this area provides both relaxation, as well as plenty to do Suits all ages. We are just metres from the Orange River for fly- and bait-fishing, crock-ducking and only 6kms from the Gariep Dam for sailing and other water sports, as well as close to a private airfield which is a popular venue for gliders. Other activities that can be organised for you include horse-riding, clay-pigeon shooting, quad-biking, paint-balling, just to name a few. We are only 6kms from the N1 so handy for all travellers as a perfect half-way stop-over between Gauteng and the Western or Eastern Cape or a holiday desination in itself There are game farms close by, wonderful wildlife and birds, conservation areas, picnic sites, the Dam itself with its own tours and, for the historical buff, lots of interesting material surrounding the Anglo-Boer wars, including the well-known Concentration Camp Cemetery. We cater for the budget traveller from backpacker nights in the off-season of just R75.00 per person per night to the more comfortable ensuite style of accommodation. Groups are welcome and conference facilities can be made available too.
