ECPTA, in partnership with the National Department of Tourism and Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality, hosted a two-day Occupational Health and Safety workshop on 26 and 27 November 2025 at Sunset Events and Accommodation.
The workshop brought together accommodation facilities, restaurants, conference venues and activity operators from across Buffalo City. Participants were trained on fire safety, emergency protocol management, hazard identification, workplace risk assessment and legislative compliance requirements. The session aimed to build stronger operational confidence and elevate safety standards across establishments frequently used by visitors.
The programme supports the objectives of the Tourism Master Plan, which prioritises visitor safety and compliance as key elements of a competitive tourism experience in the Eastern Cape.
