Tourist Guides Must Register and Keep Their Details Updated
All practising and aspiring tourist guides in the Eastern Cape must be legally registered with ECPTA before conducting tours. Registration aligns with the Tourism Act of 2014 and ensures visitor safety, professionalism and access to training.
Registered guides must keep their information updated including contact details, First Aid certification, guiding categories and employment information. Once approved, guides must collect their ID card and badge at the ECPTA Tourist Guide Registrar’s Office at Island Nature Reserve in Seaview, Port Elizabeth between 08:00 and 16:00 on weekdays.
