POSITION : SENIOR RESERVE MANAGER
CENTRE : BAVIAANSKLOOF NATURE RESERVE
LEVEL : D LOWER
Purpose
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Senior Reserve Manager will be responsible for managing the biodiversity, heritage, protection and infrastructure of the Baviaanskloof Reserve which includes the World Heritage site through goal orientated management that is aligned with the conservation and tourism objectives of the protected area.
Requirements
3 (three) year tertiary qualification in Nature Conservation / Environmental Management or equivalent.
5 (five) years’ experience in a relevant supervisory position.
Firearm Competency Certificate
EMI Level 2 is required.
A valid Driver’s License and Police Clearance.
Key Performance Areas
Financial Management: Provide input and manage in accordance with the Budget.
People Management: Ensure that the performance of subordinate staff is managed.
Infrastructure / Asset Management: Ensure compliance with all Asset Management Policies of ECPTA.
Biodiversity and Heritage Management: Stay up to date with the latest improvements and legislation.
Law Enforcement: Identify thresholds of potential concern and develop mitigation methods.
Tourism Hospitality: Develop and implement a Tourism Development Plan.
Stakeholder management: Develop liaison Forums to discuss management issues.
Implementation of Strategic Management plans: Review, update and implement the Strategic Management Plan.
