Fishriver Horse Safaris offers a unique coastal bush experience and excellent game viewing from horseback. Enjoy riding on unspoilt beaches and in a diverse game reserve in one ride. The reserve hosts white rhino, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and a large variety of antelope species including eland, waterbuck and oribi. We are located on Fort DAcre Reserve, an exclusive private game reserve at the mouth of the Great Fish River, only 15 minutes from Port Alfred, and less than an hours drive from East London and Grahamstown. We cater for beginner to advanced riders and have well trained, reliable horses to suit all abilities. All rides are led by an experienced and highly qualified guide and one or two backup riders. Only high quality Trail Ranger saddles are used and you will be supplied with hard hats of German safety standards. Each horse has its own tack therefore the saddles mould to the individual shape of the horse. This ensures a comfortable experience for horse and rider. We place great value on the condition and happiness of our horses. They have all been handpicked and trained by us to ensure your enjoyment. They roam and graze the reserve freely. This encourages a relaxed game viewing experience for horse, rider and animals encountered. Our day rides are 2 21 2 hours long and will take you through the game reserve and down to the beach. You will ride through thick bush, streams, open plains and vegetated sand dunes. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Great Fish River mouth and stunning coastlines of the Indian ocean as we ride through shifting sand dunes and on secluded beaches. See white rhino and buffalo grazing on the plains. You will also have the opportunity to ride in the company of giraffe and zebra, who accept the horses as fellow grazers and let you experience game viewing in a unique and personal way.
