Corndale Country Cottages

Located in Graaff-Reinet

Best of both worlds. The two guest cottages at Corndale are named after special people in hosts Robert and Elizabeth Vorsters life. One is her late mother, Romana. The other is their dear friend, Gina. It is a gesture which hints at the personal approach you might expect from the outgoing person that Elizabeth is. Her Italian roots are never hidden from conversational view, and her energy bubbles close to the surface. Stay at Corndale and you are drawn into their life on the farm. They aim to offer accommodation that is clean and comfortable and cosy but Corndale does so much more. Encircled by spectacular Karoo landscape, with local landmarks punctuating the skyline, this farm is only a few minutes drive out of Graaff-Reinet. Its the best of both worlds exclaims Elizabeth. For those who enjoy birding, scenery and fresh A variety of walks on the farm will appeal to visitors who enjoy birding, scenery, fresh air, and the great outdoors in general. The farm is part of the Camdeboo Conservancy. Currently catering for hunters and overnight visitors, Corndale aims to attract tour groups in the future. There are plans for an entertainment centre where large groups can enjoy a braai and traditional Karoo geselligheid. In the meantime, however, if you choose to stay at Ginas (two people) or at Romanas (four people), you will have a continental breakfast delivered to your homely cottage before a day spent exploring historic Graaff-Reinet. For both cottages, the smart new bathrooms, featuring wildlife and ethnic designs on the tiles, have been custom built. But the dramatic view and the hillside of aloes at your back door have been there all along.
