The little town of Patensie lies virtually at the mouth of the Baviaanskloof Wilderness area, hidden away in the southwestern corner of the Eastern Cape and only an hours drive from Port Elizabeth. Its the last stop before entering the Wilderness. Pats Place is a small self-catering unit with an open-plan living area and a well-equipped kitchen and lounge. There is one bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with a shower. The unit has lovely views across the valley and the surrounding hills. Enjoy a visit to the dam and a viewing of Queen Victorias bust in the conglomerate cliffs along the Gamtoos River. You can only see it from the west so you need to stop and look back with a stop at the quaint little home industries tea room of Tolbos in Patensie, before setting off on one of many rambles through the area.
