Thalassa Backpackers

Welcome to Thalassa Backpackers Situated between Port Alfred and Kenton-on-Sea along the Sunshine Coastline, Kasouga has a colourful history. The dirt road to Kasouga has kept the coastal town peacefully uncommercialised, a feature we wish to nurture. Thalassa Backpackers has only recently established itself as a promoter of the backpacking lifestyle. Over the last 19 years the Thalassa home has been used by the Davies family for their holidays, and has inbetween played host to various community groups and functions. Thalassa Backpackers now offers the open minded traveller a place in the shade to cool down. Available is a furnished self-catering kitchen where picnics are prepared. From our indigenous garden a magical milkwood forest walk to the beach can take up to five minutes or an eternity. Once on the soft sand the possibilities, created out of confronting a walk as far as you can see left and right, are left to you. On your eventual return one may choose the expression of their relaxation, be it reading a book, playing poker, darts, table tennis, and pool or chilling in the coolshade with something cold in hand. Our nights pulse with the dancing of bonfires and drumming of djembe drums while supper calls hungry noses. Sleep under the stars, in tents, dorms, private rooms or caravans. Theres enough sunshine for all, so please come try our laidback flavour. There is no linen so bring your own, together with your booze and food In emergencies a plan can always be made. We have a few small tents and sleeping bags for hire, and there may be a braai pack or two for purchase in the deep freeze.
