Woodbury Tented Camp is a family-run Camp on the malaria-free Amakhala Game Reserve. Opened in 1999 by the Gush family, the camp offers a tranquil base from which to experience exciting Big Five game viewing. Woodbury Tented Camp is one of the hidden jewels of the Eastern Cape, tucked into a secluded hillside thicket overlooking the ancient floodplain of the Bushman’s River.
Each tent has its own private deck and en suite bathroom. Also in the portfolio are two family tents which adjoin on the balcony, allowing families to enjoy the African bush together. Camp life is centered around the thatch and canvas dining room and lounge, with its expansive deck overlooking the Woodbury plains. Relax at the pool during the day or around the fire at night, and enjoy the delicious food prepared by our home-grown chefs. Friendly and professional guides conduct exciting game drives twice a day join them in search of the Big Five and an amazing diversity of other wildlife.
