Deputy Minister Sotyu Leads Tourism Engagement in Queenstown

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ms Maggie Sotyu, led a Tourism Outreach Programme in Queenstown aimed at increasing access to tourism opportunities for youth, women and SMMEs. The engagement aligned with the national 16 Days of Activism campaign under the theme “LETSEMA: Men, Women, Boys and Girls Working Together to End GBVF.”

The Deputy Minister highlighted the importance of community safety as the foundation for a thriving tourism sector. Participants received information on the Department’s training programmes, enterprise development support and market opportunities within tourism. The strong turnout demonstrated that residents are eager to participate meaningfully in the tourism economy.

The outreach reinforced the role tourism plays in supporting inclusive growth, empowering women and young people, and strengthening economic resilience within the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality.
