The Eastern Cape recently hosted international delegates for the inaugural G20 Employment Working Group meeting from 18 to 21 February 2025 in Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality. Under the theme “Solidarity, Equality, and Sustainability,” the event convened global leaders, labor experts, and representatives from esteemed international organizations, including the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the World Bank.

Hosting an event of this magnitude has bolstered the Eastern Cape’s reputation as a premier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE), showcasing its world-class conference facilities and diverse leisure activities, from wildlife safaris to rich cultural heritage experiences.
