Tourism students from Ikhala TVET College visited the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency (ECPTA) head office as part of an educational exposure aimed at gaining insight into the agency’s work.
The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to learn more about ECPTA’s role in promoting tourism, managing protected areas, and supporting sustainable development within the Eastern Cape. Through engagement with staff, the students were introduced to the different functions of the agency and how these contribute to growing the province’s tourism sector.
The interaction created a platform for knowledge sharing, allowing students to better understand the practical side of the tourism industry beyond the classroom. It also offered inspiration as they prepare to enter the sector, highlighting potential career paths and the impact of tourism on local economic development.
