Following the success of ECPTA’s partnership with Go Baviaans: Baviaanskloof Accommodation and Activities and the Another Way Community Trust on the renowned Leopard The Leopard Trail, a new chapter unfolds with the launch of the Baviaanskloof Canyon Trail, another unforgettable slackpacking experience in the Baviaanskloof World Heritage Site Wilderness Reserve.
The Leopard Trail remains a favourite among nature lovers and adventure seekers: a 4-day, 3-night hike with your bags and food transported each day so you can fully enjoy the rugged beauty of the Kloof. Every booking also supports the local community through jobs, training, and sustainable income.
Now, the newly launched Canyon Trail will offer a next-level adventure for hikers with good fitness. This 5-day, 4-night trail (plus accommodation before and after) features four 16km days and one 8km day – all with the same slackpacking convenience.
But these trails are more than just scenic hikes – they’re models of community empowerment. In partnership with the Another Way Trust, they create real, meaningful opportunities for local residents employed in the reserve, every step you take makes a difference.
Two trails. One wild and beautiful reserve. A powerful eco-tourism success story.
