ECPTA is proud to be associated with all provincial signature and small-scale events that help to create jobs and grow the provincial GDP. ECPTA understands that events play a critical role in provincial tourism because they act as draw cards to the province and have potential to become community-driven and owned projects that create sustainable jobs and provide business opportunities for different parts of the province. Events are also visitor number drivers and play a crucial role in providing a tangible reason for people to visit the beautiful Eastern Cape.
Whilst speaking at the Rhodes Snow festival, Tracy Putzier ECPTA Board chairperson explained events as triggers for diversified tourism offerings and as catalysts for economic growth and job creation with a potential of delivering outstanding return on investment
The ECPTA CEO, Vuyani Dayimani shared similar sentiment at a media brunch for the National Arts festival where he noted the considerable value in hosting and partnering with events as a province. ECPTA simultaneously supported the Kirkwood Wildfees Festival, Makhanda National Arts festival, and the Rhodes Snow festival particularly for the above-mentioned reasons. The Eastern Cape is a destination for all seasons and boasts unique and authentic events worth exploring.
