Empowering Future Leaders at the Working World Exhibition

The 25th edition of the Working World Exhibition in Gqeberha became a pivotal moment for the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency (ECPTA) to engage directly with the youth. This event served as an educational platform where ECPTA showcased the multifaceted career opportunities within the tourism and conservation sectors. It aimed to enlighten Grade 11 and 12 students about the paths they could embark upon in these fields.

ECPTA’s Indirah Majavu and Faith Duze spearheaded the agency’s participation, offering interactive sessions that debunked common myths about tourism and conservation careers. Their presentations provided a comprehensive overview of the industry, highlighting how each role, from field rangers to hospitality managers, contributes to the sector’s vibrancy and sustainability.

The exhibition was not just an informational event but an inspirational gateway for students. They left with a broader understanding of the tourism and conservation industries, equipped with knowledge to make informed decisions about their future careers. This initiative underscores ECPTA’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of professionals who will champion the growth and sustainability of these sectors in the Eastern Cape.
