TRAVEL SAFE – EAT SAFE CERTIFICATION

Covid has forced us to introduce comprehensive safety protocols as set by the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA). EPCTA supports these protocols to ensure the continued operation of tourism businesses and facilities in times of the pandemic.

These official protocols guide tourism businesses to operate in a safe environment for employees, suppliers and tourists. Aligned to the latest regulations and directions, and benchmarked against international best practice, these protocols have been approved by an epidemiologist.

Based on the comprehensive nature and strength of theses protocols, the World Travel and Tourism Council’s (WTTC) Global Safety Stamp of Approval was issued to South Africa as a safe destination and the TBCSA was given issuing rights to the WTTC Safe Travels stamp in South Africa.

A free ‘Travel Safe – Eat Safe’ certification programme has been developed for South African businesses to adopt the protocols. It encompasses a centralised registration system and app as well as comprehensive training for businesses and staff. This page allows business owners, CEO’s and Health and Safety Managers to download documents and ensure that all protocols have been observed, increasing customer confidence around safety concerns
