With its home in the Eastern Cape hinterland, the Commando Drift Nature reserve covers an area of 6000ha’s forming part of the Commando Drift Dam. From scenic lakeside views, angling adventures and a variety of water sports, the Commando Drift Nature Reserve offers outdoor fun for everyone in search of leisure, adventure and RnR pastimes.
Among the most striking features of the reserve is a series of spectacular dolerite and sandstone cliffs, as well as numerous popular hiking and off-road trails, including the Bushman and Endurance hiking trails and Palingkloof jeep track.
A great biking destination, the mountain bike trail has a circular route and a number of alternative trails. It is fairly easy, but includes some challenging hills, rocky terrain and a few devil thorns!
